Havelock, gateway to the Marlborough Sounds

Come and stay in the green shell mussel capital of the world!

Havelock (at the top of the South Island) is about to celebrate 150 yrs as is all of Marlborough. Havelock was a timber town and briefly center of a small gold rush, which was found in Canvastown. The famous sons of Havelock are Lord Rutherford and Ernest Pickering who both attended the Havelock Primary School.

The mussel industry is the largest employer in Havelock at present.
